Biologist, naturalist, & nature illustrator Robin
Carlson is passionate about observing,
recording, and understanding the world around
us as it unfolds. The Orcas Island Public Library is
excited to announce that Robin will be offering
a two-part program to excite people about our
local ecosystems and the art of field sketching.
June 14th, 5pm: A library discussion led by Robin
about her fieldwork and latest book, The Cold
Canyon Fire Journals.
June 15th, 5pm: Robin will lead participants to a
location on Orcas Island to study an ecosystem
and teach people the art of nature sketching
while at the location. Participation is free, and
participants will be provided with sketching
materials at no cost.
