In an effort to minimize expenses during these economic times, it is crucial and also sometimes difficult to find inexpensive entertainment. Thankfully, the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) is presenting an exhibit for no cost. That’s right, folks. It’s free! ICA’s Afterlife focuses on unwanted discards and presents them with a “new meaning.” Artists suchas Claudia Borgna and Mark Fox-Morgan collect discarded items from thrift stores, junkyards, and garage sales and transform them into art that inspires “thoughtful consideration and interpretation.” This brings the idea of reusing and recycling to a whole new level. For more information, visit ICA’s website or call (408) 283-8155.
