Authors on the Move

Authors on the Move is a fundraiser for the Sacramento Public Library Foundation benefiting the 28 branch libraries with literacy and tutoring programs as well as books and materials. More than 45 participating authors, including Heyday’s Scott Lankford (Tahoe beneath the Surface) will talk with guests regarding their writing experiences and latest work. Guests enjoy a four-course gourmet dinner (one author at each table for the first three courses, keynote speaker during dessert) and have an opportunity to purchase books and get them signed by each author before and after dinner.

Scott LankfordRaised in Colorado, Scott Lankford got lost en route to Stanford University and spent much of the next ten years as a maintenance man, musician, and mountaineering guide at Lake Tahoe. After joining the 1985 American Everest West Ridge Expedition, he completed a Ph.D. in modern thought and literature with a dissertation on John Muir. Currently a professor of English at Foothill College, in California’s Silicon Valley, he has also served as Foothill’s dean of Language Arts and codirector of the Foothill College Center for a Sustainable Future.
